Agents of Change …
My clients tend to be visionary people with a burning desire to be and do their best so that they can improve the world around them. I think people like this are fabulous.
But it is not always easy to be an Agent of Change. Their unerring ability to spot the possibilities for improvement in any given situation means that they sometimes have difficulty in recognising which ones of all these possibilities are the real opportunities. This can lead to them putting their efforts into trying to change things that are not ripe for change. They then feel that they are up against a brick wall, struggling to swim against the tide. It can be very frustrating, and a frustrated Agent of Change is not a happy bunny!
Agents of Change can often have a real entrepreneurial streak in them. They are initiators, bursting with ideas. Sometimes they can have too many ideas which leads them to dabble rather than produce satisfactory results. Before they know it, their visionary projects can feel more like messy burdens.
Despite a real need to be part of a supportive network some of my clients can feel isolated, a lone voice crying in the wilderness. It is frustrating when they can’t communicate their vision in a way that gets other people on board.
At worst, frustrated Agents of Change can suffer from a debilitating sense of underachievement, even though they are often actually high achievers. There is always so much more that could be done that they forget to notice or value what they have already accomplished. They begin to feel bad about themselves and become riddled with doubt about their ability to be really effective.
If Agents of Change aren’t making positive change happen, it is hard for them to feel good about themselves and their lives.
If you recognise yourself as an Agent of Change, imagine what life could be like if you were always to see and appreciate your visionary nature as the gift it truly is.
Imagine if …
- you easily recognised exactly where your opportunities are so you never wasted time chasing clouds.
- you were able to take well thought out, effective action on every opportunity that comes your way in order to make the changes that will bring your vision to life.
- you felt understood, validated and supported every inch of the way.
- you knew that you could talk and /or write about your vision in a way that inspires and excites other people to take positive life enhancing action.
- you had stopped struggling totally.
I have coached many Agents of Change to do just this.
I don’t offer any quick fixes, but a deep companionship as you tred your own path.
