Small Group Coaching

Small Group Coaching

Small Group Coaching is quite a different experience from Individual Coaching. Obviously, you don’t get the undivided attention of the coach. However, when I say “Small Group Coaching”, that is exactly what I mean. I limit the number of people in any coaching group to between three and six, never more. This means that every member of the group has a chance to really benefit from the process… nobody gets lost in the crowd!!

What you also get from a group is a variety of perspective and a wealth of wisdom from the other group members. Group members often “Buddy up” to give each other support between calls.

Just witnessing other people’s process is very powerful.

You can see how they progress, how they get snagged up at times, how they move beyond the things they thought limited them. This is very inspiring… and of course, you will inspire others too as you go through your process!

And, of course, Group Coaching is economical way of getting quality coaching support.

The benefits of working through Small Group Coaching are many and varied. You can expect that the group will help you to…

  • Define your vision… and maybe even expand it a bit! The group will also hold your vision for you on those days when you imagine it is all a bit too much. Just knowing that other people care about what you are intending to achieve is very affirming and energising.
  • Identify those things that get in the way of you realising your intentions. Often group members can see what it is difficult for you to see yourself.  Sometimes other people’s experience illuminates your own. It is very useful.
  • Be supportive and challenging… when you are in the process of profound change, you need both. You need to be supported and you also need to be challenged to stretch yourself. Groups do both really well.
  • Focus your action plans… if you always do what you‘ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got! So if you want a different result, you have to take different actions. The group can help you to clarify and refine exactly what action you need to take next. One step at a time!
  • Stay accountable… ultimately, of course, you are accountable to yourself, but believe me it helps to stay accountable when you know there are other people behind you and willing you to do as well as you possibly can!
  • Celebrate your achievements… It is very important when you are an Agent of Change that your achievements are noticed and celebrated by other people. This grounds them and helps you to build on them. When you do something ground breaking for you, you can rely on your group to notice and celebrate with you.

Group coaching is not the same as a teleclass. It is a very organic process that we create between us week by week. Whilst the group may well have a particular focus, I will always follow the group’s agenda rather than a pre-set curriculum.

How does it work practically?

We use a telephone conference line to meet. This means that you can benefit from the group from the comfort of your own home. No travel, and the chance to connect regularly with people in geographically different places. Once you sign up for the group you will be sent the number of a telephone conference line and information about how to access it. You will also receive some guidelines about how to make the best use of this virtual classroom!
